The legend is that Hanuman who was installed here could not stand the Bandi Vadya of the Temple and left the place. The erstwhile Adalithe Moktesar – Late Shri Vaman Pai felt that this Peepal tree podium needed an Idol of Hanuman. In fact this area is known as Hanumatta, a colloquial adaptation for Hanuman Katta. A Hanuman Idol was installed here in 2006. Gradually the podium was refurbished. Later the podium was covered with a roof from the donation received from a devotee. Every Saturday a Pooja is performed here.  The Hanuman Katta has now become a local attraction.
